Quality Still Counts
Tom Jonozzo, General Manager of Guiding Systems for Fives North American, says the emphasis on increasing line speeds, while at the same time, reducing the number of operators, has left it to the equipment manufacturers to develop the processes necessary to maintain quality.
"When that happens, your web handling becomes more critical because you just can't handle variations in process like you could at slower line speeds. So, maybe where you had one guide on the process line, now you need three."

Joe Gatti
Mechanical Project Engineer
• Joe comes to us from COE Newnes & McGhee where he designed large capital equipment for the timber processing industry. Previous roles at MOOG Flo-Tork, Spirex Corporation, Van Dorn DEMAG and Cincinnati Milacron have allowed Joe to gain extensive design experience in hydraulics, actuator design, product design and project management.
• He will be taking on the role of project engineer for our engineered solutions as well as helping to commercialize new products. Past experience with cost reduction efforts for mature product lines will also be a great addition to the group.
• Joe has his BSME from Youngstown State and his IMBA from Baldwin-Wallace.
Gary Thompson
Guiding Industry Coordinator
Tire and Rubber, Cleveland, OH
• Gary brings over 30 years of capital equipment sales, marketing, design and development, and field service experience with him. He also has extensive web and strip guiding experience having previously worked over ten years for Guiding Systems in the 1990’s.
• During his tenure with FivesNA, he was instrumental in the development and commercialization of our tire calender and fabric treating line solutions and controls. Subsequent assignments included sales, marketing, and field service roles with BST, Harris Instruments, and EMG USA.
• Gary has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron
John Lord
Sales Engineer, Southington CT
• John joined our team in Sept. 2007. He has a broad background in Industrial Sales including areas such as Power Generation, Controls and Production Automation.
• As a degreed chemist and with a Mechanical Engineering background, John brings an understanding of the customer’s needs, adding to our ability to support them on a technical level, to solving their guiding needs.
• Sales territory includes NJ, E-PA, E-NY, DE and all of New England.
Mark White
Field Service Manager, Cleveland, OH
Mark rejoined our team in Dec. 2007.
• Mark began his career with FivesNA in 1997 as a University of Akron co-op Mechanical Engineer. After graduation in 2000, Mark joined FivesNA in a full time role as Field Service Technician and was promoted to Project Engineer in 2002.
Rob Stoebick
Sales Manager, Indianapolis, IN
• Rob joined FivesNA in 1993 as a Field Service Engineer after working as a plant engineer in the automotive and other heavy manufacturing industries.
• He moved into Project Engineering in 1995, focusing on PLC-based systems and controls development, as well as field support. In Jan. 2008, Rob assumed the role of Sales Manager.
• Rob has BS in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University.
• His sales territory includes IN, SW-OH, C-IL, SW-MI, N-KY, CO, UT, CA, OR, WA, NV, AR, ID, WY, NM, MT.
Shawn Ringler
Field Service Technician, Cleveland, OH
Shawn joined our team in January 2008.
Alan Dodson
Sales Engineer, Fancy Farm, KY
• Alan has worked for many years as a Plant Engineer in the Continental/General Tire Plant in Kentucky. In that capacity, he purchased and installed FivesNA guiding equipment in the stock prep and calender areas. Before coming to FivesNA, he most recently was employed at the Goodyear Plant in Tennessee.
• Alan has a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management.
• His territory includes MO, S-IL, KY, AR, W-TN, MS, AL, and LA.
